This is just a little more than Twitter can handle and from what I keep seeing and hearing, it needs to be said!
...however…
wary CAN be used as a synonym for leery
and,
leery = leary

Cool! And though leery and leary are interchangeable, I definitely prefer the former. I would say ‘leary’ is supported, but debatable - unless you’re referring to Leary, a figurehead for the hippie drug culture [look it up]. 
Edgar Allan Poe helps me to remember one of them:
